Find 700-foot-long water slides with a mountain view at Colorado hot spring resort
It’s no secret that Colorado is home to a ton of hot springs. That said, one of several features that sets Buena Vista-area Mount Princeton Hot Springs Resort apart is its waterslides – two 700-foot-long slides that drop into geothermally-warmed water.
Find these slides at about 8,250 feet above sea level, surrounded by views of the Chalk Cliffs and the Collegiate Peaks. One slide offers an open-air experience, while the other is enclosed. The slides can be found in the ‘Upper Pools’ area, where water is kept at about 82 to 99 degrees.
While the Upper Pools are included with the standard day pass ($40 to $45 for adults, $35 for kids and seniors), unlimited slide access is a $7 add-on. The slides are open from Memorial Day though Labor Day and participants must be at least 48 inches tall.
Another key feature of Mount Princeton Hot Springs Resort is creekside pool access. These rocky pools are found in Chalk Creek where 140 degree water mixes with cold water of the creek for a very customizable experience. The creekside pools are about a foot deep with a sandy bottom.
