Air Force women’s basketball adds assistant Mackenzie Head

Mackenzie Head is joining the Air Force women’s basketball coaching staff, coming to Stacy McIntyre’s staff after spending the past three seasons at New Mexico.

Head was responsible for player development with the Lobos and oversaw the team’s offensive playmaking and production.

She has also coached with the men’s program at her alma mater, Bethel University in St. Paul, Minn. She spent time at Mercer and George Washington.

“I’m incredibly grateful to join the Air Force women’s basketball program,” Head said in a press release. “It’s a special place that embodies integrity, service, and excellence in all we do. I am honored to be a part of the academy’s tradition and excited for the opportunity to help develop future female leaders on and off the court. Thank you to Coach Stacy – a great coach, mentor, and leader, for the opportunity. The best is yet to come – Let’s get to work & go Falcons!”

Former Air Force associate head coach Adam Wardenburg departed this offseason to take over the program at Utah Tech. He quickly hired fellow Falcons assistant Lauren Brocke to his staff.

Air Force’s website now lists Rynae Rasley as the associate head coach.
