A California judge granted Taylor Swift a temporary restraining order Monday against a Colorado man who is accused of stalking and harassing her.

Swift, who last came to Denver in 2023 for her “Eras Tour” at Empower Field, filed the request in Los Angeles Superior Court. It details how Brian Jason Wagner, 45, has allegedly repeatedly showed up at Swift’s California home since July 2024.

During his first visit, Wagner was seen carrying a glass bottle that “could’ve been used as a weapon,” according to court documents. In subsequent instances where Wagner showed up at the property, he made claims about living at the property, being in a relationship with Swift, needing to see her in person and her being the mother of his son.

According to Swift, Wagner also sent members of her staff “hundreds of emails with similarly concerning and threatening language, tried to divert mail from my residence to his attention, and even lied to the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) to somehow change the address on his driver’s license to my Los Angeles home.”

In the filing, Swift emphasized that she does not know Wagner, nor has she ever met him or spoken with him.

Wagners’ attempts at communication and instances of trespassing have made Swift fear for her safety and the safety of her family, as she has never publicly shared her address. She claims that his threatening communication has escalated in recent weeks, creating “a fear of imminent harm”.

According to the filing, Swifts security team ran a criminal history report on Wagner and discovered he had previously been incarcerated and had sent Swift “lengthy communications” while in custody.

According to Colorado court records Wagner pleaded guilty to forgery in 2023 in Clear Creek County and was given a deferred sentence. He was also arrested in 2023 in Jefferson County on a car theft charge. In January 2024, he pled guilty and was sentenced to probation.

Swift has previously dealt with harassment from another Colorado man, Disc jockey David Mueller.

Mueller was fired from his job at Denver radio station KYGO in June 2013 after Swift said he groped her while they posed together for a photograph.

Mueller denied the accusations, and sued Swift for $3 million. She countersued for a single dollar and won.
