Maryland man dies while skiing with his daughter at Sunlight Mountain Resort
A 48-year-old man on vacation with his wife and two daughters died Tuesday while skiing at a resort in Garfield County.
Job Henning of Bethesda, Maryland, was identified by the Garfield County Coroner’s Office on Thursday as the man who died while skiing with his teenage daughter at Sunlight Mountain Resort.
His cause of death was determined to be from blunt force injuries to the head and the manner of death has been classified as an accident, the coroner’s office said.
Officials said Henning’s daughter was further down the slope at the time of the accident and did not witness what had happened.
Henning was found on Tuesday at the base of a tree by “Good Samaritans” who initiated CPR while waiting for first-responders to arrive.
The Sunlight Ski Patrol responded to the report and transported Henning to the first-aid area where he could not be resuscitated and was declared dead.
