Body believed to be of missing man found at Horsetooth Mountain Park

A body believed to be a missing 30-year-old Fort Collins man was found at Horsetooth Mountain Park on Thursday, the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office said.
A Larimer County Natural Resources ranger found an unoccupied vehicle parked at the park on Sunday, and on Wednesday, observed it was still there.
Search called off for missing Colorado hiker, dog
After investigating the vehicle and learning the identity of the registered owner, the ranger contacted the family and learned they had not seen nor heard from the man in several days, officials said.
A search then ensued by LCSO Emergency Shrives, Larimer County Search and Rescue and LCSO investigators, but because of extreme winter weather conditions, it was suspended.
Officials resumed the search on Thursday and utilized search and rescue dogs and a drone.
A body believed to be the missing man was found near the west side of Horsetooth Rock on Thursday.
Deputies said there is no evidence that would suggest foul play.
The Larimer County Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the man and cause of death at a later date.
