Denver weather: Chances of thunderstorms Thursday

Denver is forecast for hot conditions Thursday alongside a chance for early afternoon showers, according to the National Weather Service in Boulder.
There’s a 30% chance of showers and thunderstorms Thursday, mainly between noon and 5 p.m. Expect mostly sunny skies and a high of 91 degrees.
“Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected this afternoon and evening across north central and northeast Colorado,” the NWS said. “Severe storms are unlikely, and the main impacts from any storm should be lightning, gusty winds to 40 mph, and small hail. Flash flooding is not expected, including across any of the burn scars.”
Looking ahead to Thursday night, a 20% chance of thunderstorms will persist through 11 p.m. Partly cloudy skies are in the forecast and a low of 63 degrees.
Friday will bring another hot day in the 90s to the Denver area, with continued chances of afternoon storms.
Sunshine radiates through the weekend forecast bringing slightly cooler temps in the 80s through Sunday.

Saturday: There’s a 60% chance of showers and thunderstorms between noon and 3 p.m. Expect mostly sunny skies and a high of 85 degrees.
Sunday: There’s a 70% chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after noon. Expect mostly sunny skies and a high of 81 degrees.
Monday: There’s a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon. Expect sunny skies and a high of 81 degrees.
