Bustang from Denver to Rocky Mountain National Park resumes service Saturday

Bus service connecting Denver to Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park begins this Memorial Day weekend.

The route, “Bustang to Estes,” will run every Saturday, Sunday and on holidays through Sept. 27. A one-way ticket for adults is $7.50.

Bustang, Colorado Department of Transportation’s interregional bus service, includes WiFi, power outlets, a restroom, bike racks and “abundant storage space.”

The bus will make two round trips each day, one leaving Denver’s Union Station at 7 a.m. and another at 8 a.m.

Riders then arrive three hours later at Rocky Mountain National Park.

Passengers traveling to RMNP do not need a timed entry pass, but a park entrance pass is required.

Along the way, the bus stops in Westminster, Broomfield, Superior, Boulder, Lyons, the Estes Park Visitor Center and RMNP’s Park & Ride Transit Hub on the Bear Lake Road corridor.

At the Estes Park Visitor Center, riders have access to Estes Park’s free summer shuttle service around town.

Riders who stay on the Bustang until the RMNP Park & Ride can take the Bear Lake or Moraine Park shuttles to get to various trailheads.

Bustang’s service to Rocky Mountain National Park debuted in 2019, before it paused in 2020 during the pandemic. Now it returns for its seventh season.
