Denver weather: Snowstorm remains ‘on track’
Denver’s big spring snowstorm is still expected as the rain turns into snow later today.
The National Weather Service said to expect a high of around 39 today with precipitation all day long.
The long-forecasted storm is here. The weather service says to expect it to remain rainy in the morning with some potential snowy mix later in the day before turning back into rain in the mid-afternoon.
The real snow will come as the sun sets. Forecasters predict a 100% chance of precipitation and up to four inches of snow tonight.
The weather service is issuing a winter storm warning from 8 p.m. tonight until 3 p.m. tomorrow. Expect a very disrupted AM commute tomorrow as the bulk of the storm hits.
Due to the wet, heavy nature of the storm, the weather service is warning of damaged trees and potentially power lines. Xcel Energy has additional crews standing by in anticipation of the storm.
