Eastbound Interstate 76 closed due to multiple-vehicle crash
The eastbound lanes of Interstate 76 were closed Monday morning after a multi-vehicle crash in Commerce City.
At about 4:23 a.m. Monday, Colorado State Patrol trooppers responded to the crash on I-76 just east of 88th Avenue.
At least five vehicles and a semi truck hauling a trailer were involved in the crash, according to the State Patrol. Two drivers were taken to the hospital, authorities said. The extent of injuries of the drivers transported is unknown.
As of 6 a.m. Monday, eastbound lanes remained closed. It was unknown when the interstate would reopen. Drivers were being asked to find alternate routes.
