Metro Denver area residents clear storm debris after heavy May snowfall

Residents across the Front Range are cleaning up after a spring snowstorm that dropped more than a foot of snow in some areas, bringing down branches and leaving thousands without power.

Local governments have opened temporary and expanded debris drop‑off options to help residents safely dispose of storm damage.

DENVER

Location:
Cherry Creek Recycling Drop‑off, 7400 Cherry Creek South Drive

Hours:
Open Tuesday–Friday and Saturdays, with midday closures

Details:

  • Drop‑off limited to Denver residents with proof of residency
  • Small branches may be placed in compost carts or bundled for Large Item Pickup
  • Branches that fit inside compost carts are accepted through Denver Solid Waste Management

BOULDER

Location:
Western Disposal Materials Management Center, 2051 63rd St.

Hours:
7 a.m.–5 p.m. Monday–Saturday,
Closed Sundays

ARVADA

Location:
Long Lake Regional Park, 17850 W. 64th Ave.

Dates:
Saturday, May 9 through Sunday, May 17

Hours:
8 a.m.–2 p.m. daily

Details:

  • Temporary tree limb and branch drop‑off only
  • Residential use only; proof of residency required

BROOMFIELD

Location:
Tree Branch Recycle & RV Wastewater Disposal Facility, 2990 W. 124th Ave.

Extended Hours:
Noon–5 p.m. Thursday, May 7 and Friday, May 8

Regular Hours Resume:
8 a.m.–5 p.m. Saturday, May 9

  • Free drop‑off for Broomfield residents with proof of residency
  • Branch size limits apply

JEFFERSON COUNTY

Jeffco Road and Bridge South Shop, 9509 W. Ute Ave., Littleton

May 8–17

Details:

  • Free storm debris drop‑off
  • Woody debris accepted under posted size limits

DOUGLAS COUNTY

Hours:
Open Saturdays, with additional openings following the storm

HIGHLANDS RANCH

Location:
South of Highlands Ranch Stadium at Redstone Park, 3270 Redstone Park Circle

Dates:
Open now through Sunday, May 17

LONGMONT

Location:
Longmont Recycling Center, 140 Martin St.

Hours:
8 a.m.–4 p.m. Monday–Saturday

Details:

  • Residents must bring a city of Longmont Trash & Recycle utility bill (less than 6 months old) and identification (printed or electronic)
