Teen accused of LoDo mass shooting to be charged as an adult
Keanna Rosenburgh is accused of injuring 5 people in the shooting outside of Dierks Bentley's Whiskey Row
A 17-year-old girl accused of a September mass shooting in Lower Downtown Denver will be charged as an adult, prosecutors announced Thursday.
Keanna Rosenburgh appeared in court earlier this week facing 28 criminal counts as a juvenile, including seven counts of attempted murder and 15 counts of assault in connection with the Sept. 16 shooting in the 1900 block of Market Street in LoDo.
The Denver District Attorney’s Office said Rosenburgh is scheduled to make her first appearance on adult charges in Denver District Court on Monday at 8:30 a.m.
Five people were injured in the shooting. One of the victims was a young woman who told The Denver Gazette that her femoral artery was hit and she could have died but for the actions of first responders who applied a tourniquet to her leg. The woman, who asked not to be identified, said she almost lost her leg.
Rosenburgh, upset at being turned away from the entrance of Dierks Bentley’s Whiskey Row, left the entrance to the bar, returned with a handgun and started shooting into a crowd on the sidewalk, according to Denver police investigators. She had been on the run since the shooting and was arrested in Barstow, California Oct. 19.
The Lakewood teenager was extradited to Denver last weekend. There is no word about whether her family will be charged in relation to the shooting.
