Officials investigating two separate explosions in two-week span in Aurora
Officials are investigating two separate explosions in a two-week span, Aurora Fire Rescue and the Aurora Police Department said.
Investigators are being assisted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and do not know what led to the explosions on Dec. 25 and Jan. 7.
The explosions occurred within one mile of each other, officials said.
The first explosion happened about 5:30 a.m. on Christmas. It caused damage to two homes in the 18000 block of East Mansfield Avenue. No one was injured.
The second incident took place about 4:45 a.m. Thursday near the 4600 block of South Pagosa Circle.
A caller reported to 911 that they heard gunshots fired near their home. Police said the explosion caused damage to one home. No injuries were reported.
Investigators are looking for any information about the explosions, including security camera footage, doorbell camera videos or photos that residents might have around the time of the incidents.
