Denver City Council set to consider big-ticket items, including NWSL stadium project
Park Hill Golf Course land swap deal also on the docket
A lot of money will be on the table Monday night as the Denver City Council considers several big-ticket items, including $70 million to support the city’s proposed National Women’s Soccer League stadium project.
Under the terms of an intergovernmental agreement between the city and the Broadway Station Metropolitan District, the city would provide as much as $70 million to acquire land for the stadium, connect adjacent neighborhoods, and make public improvements to the bike, pedestrian and park infrastructure.
Speaking of parks, the council will take a last look at the $13 million Park Hill Golf Course land swap deal. This deal would exchange the 155-acre Park Hill parcel at 4141 E. 35th Ave. for a 145-acre parcel situated at Valley Head Street and Hayesmount Road, between East 56th and 64th avenues, near Denver International Airport.

If approved, the deal would be the largest acquisition of private land destined for use as a public park in Denver’s history.
Elsewhere on the agenda, DIA officials will be watching closely as the City Council considers a pricey project management contract to kick off the airport’s proposed new $2.1 billion consolidated rental car facility (ConRAC). If approved, the 10-year, $150 million contract with Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. would fund program management support services to oversee the development and delivery of two significant projects, the ConRAC and an associated transport system connecting the facility to the airport terminal.
There will be four proclamations this week.
The first will recognize May 2025 as Myositis Awareness Month, and the second will recognize May 14 as World Facility Management Day.
The third will honor the Powers family for multi-generational service to the Denver Police Department.
The final proclamation will recognize Michelle Jeske for 23 years of service to the Denver Public Library.
There are two public hearings at the 5:30 p.m. session.
The first concerns an ordinance changing the zoning classification for 589 and 595 S. Lincoln St. and 35 E. Center Ave. in Washington Park West.
The second is the courtesy public hearing on the resolution approving a proposed agreement between the City and County of Denver and National Western Center Authority to provide financial support for the design and construction of the Equestrian Center project at the National Western Center, upon execution through March 1, 2063, in Council District 9.
The Denver City Council will hold its regular Monday meeting at 3:30 p.m., with the general public comment session beginning at 5 p.m.
