Colorado city is the ‘most desired’ place to live in nation, says Forbes
According a recent report from Forbes, Denver is the ‘most desired place to live’ in the country, beating out other popular destinations like San Diego, New York City, and Seattle.
Coverage from the publication took a look at two factors when it comes to moving to a new place – affordability and desirability. While a list-leading 17 percent of the 1,000 Americans surveyed said they would want to live in Denver, Denver ranked very low in terms of affordability – 66th.
The publication noted that two factors behind Denver’s popularity are strong employment rates and high income levels. While this can make the city desirable, a high cost of living and expensive home prices contribute to the affordability issue.
The ‘cheapest’ place to live was determined to be Sioux Falls, South Dakota, though it is worth mentioning that there wasn’t any crossover between the 15 most affordable spots and the 15 most desired spots.
