5 injured, 2 suspects in custody following sports bar shooting in Adams County
Two suspects are in custody following a shooting which injured five people at 52eighty Sports Bar in Adams County on Saturday night.
The shooting occurred at 7575 Broadway, just after 8:20 p.m., according to the Adams County Sheriff’s Department.
No fatalities were reported.
Two people were transported to the hospital with unclear injuries, the Adams County Sheriff’s Office said on social media platform ‘X.’
Two returned to the scene with minor injuries. One of them was taken into custody, while another one was arrested, police said.
Adams County Sheriff’s Office later updated the injury count from four to five people hit in the crossfire Saturday night.
A witness told Denver Gazette 9News partner her family was having a surprise birthday party for her 60-year-old mother during the shooting. The witness said her 17-year-old son and sister-in-law were both wounded inside the restaurant.
The shooting happened in the back foyer, according to the sheriff’s office, but whether it occurred inside is unclear.
There is no current threat to the public, according to police, adding they are not looking for additional suspects.
