NBA superstar SHAQ set to host dubstep DJ set at Red Rocks Amphitheatre
In case you weren’t aware, Shaquille O’Neal – former NBA superstar of Orlando Magic and Los Angeles Lakers fame – has found quite a bit of success in the music world post-retirement from basketball.
While Shaq started rapping in 1993 – releasing an album that would go platinum, he’s since shifted gears to deejaying and producing electronic music, performing at numerous high-profile events, like the Electric Daisy Carnival in Vegas, under the name DJ Diesel or Diesel for short. The music he now creates generally falls into the dubstep genre, with his skills put on display in his 2023 single Bang Your Head.
And there’s good news for Coloradans who want to see Shaq live on stage – he’s announced that he’ll be performing at Red Rocks Amphitheatre on October 27, 2024, headlining a show that’s set to feature several other acts.
Tickets for the show, titled Shaq’s Bass All-Stars: Red Rocks, aren’t on sale yet, but pre-sale tickets will be released on May 16.
