Hiking, biking the Colorado Trail | Special Series

The Colorado Trail celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2024, creating a great opportunity for The Denver Gazette and The Gazette staffers to get an intimate view of the trail via thru-hiking and day-mountain biking.

What we found were stories about environmental issues, perseverance in the wilderness, new friends, and grand vistas from the roughly 500-mile long trail from Denver to Durango.
