11 holiday happenings you’ll find in Denver
As the holiday season quickly approaches, restaurants, hotels, bars, and more transform into winter wonderlands with a festive atmosphere to celebrate the season.
Here are some festive events happening across Denver throughout the holiday season:
- Starlight Lounge Returns to Retrograde
This cocktail lounge is hidden behind a freezer door in Sweet Action Ice Cream’s Uptown shop, and turns into an elegant and sophisticated holiday bar with “romantic winter wonderland vibes.” It will be open now through Jan. 31. The specialty cocktail list is inspired by classic Christmas cookies.
2. Gingerbread Tea at St. Julien Hotel & Spa
This holiday tradition will take place Nov. 30, Dec. 7, 14, 21. All proceeds benefit There With Care. During the tea service, kids can decorate gingerbread cookies. The menu includes fresh-baked scones, tea sandwiches, and gourmet teas.
3. Holiday Tea at the Brown Palace
Holiday Tea at The Brown Palace will run through Jan. 25. Guests will enjoy English tea, warm scones with Devonshire cream, and savory and sweet bites.
4. Breakfast with Santa at Ellyngton’s
This festive breakfast will take place Dec. 6, 13, 20, 24, and include a buffet, decor, and photo opportunities.
5. Wine & Wreaths at The Warwick Hotel
This event will include an evening of wine and wreath making. Tickets include a prosecco toast, festival holiday cocktail, and wood-fired pizza.
6. Brunch with Father Christmas at Four Mile
Taking place at Four Mile Historic Park on Dec. 13, this event will include a brunch experience, Colorado Christmas crafts, cozy tractor rides through the farm, a Yule Log Hunt, and more.
7. Breakfast with Santa at St. Julien
Guests can join Santa for breakfast at the ballroom at St. Julien on Dec. 13 and 20.
8. Nocturne Holiday sessions
Taking place at Nocturne on Dec. 17-18, The Peter Sommer Septet is presenting a book of “swinging holiday favorites,” including “I’ll Be Home for Christmas,” “Winter Wonderland,” and “A Christmas Song,” and more. The David Mesquitic Quintet will perform Dec. 19, 20 and 21, with arrangements of holiday classics from the 50s, 60s, and 70s, and some songs from Vince Guaraldi’s “Charlie Brown Christmas.” Dinner and a show reservations include floor seating and a three-course dinner.
9. Night Brunch at Four Mile
Four Mile Historic Park is inviting guests to celebrate the Winter Solstice on Dec. 20 with a Krampus-themed Night Brunch, featuring a Valhalla Bloody Bar and a Bifrost Rainbow Mimosa Bar.
10. Pinkies Up! Holiday Tea at Local Jones
Local Jones’ holiday tea includes warm scones, house-made pastries, savory sandwiches, and champagne, and runs through Jan. 11.
11. Ugly Christmas Sweater Shop Pop-Up & Holiday Specials at Punch Bowl Social
Punch Bowl Social has partnered with Ugly Christmas Sweater Shop for a festive pop-up that will include a holiday cocktail menu and festive events like Very Merry Karaoke on Fridays. The pop-up will run through Dec. 28.
