Cause-of-death related to case of missing man found in Colorado creek released
Authorities have released the cause-of-death in a missing persons case that got quite a bit of media coverage earlier this year.
Paul Aragon, 34, was an unhoused person who was determined to be missing out of the Denver metro area on May 8. At that time, his truck was located in the Broomfield area. His dog was found in the still-running vehicle.
An extensive search and investigation related to his disappearance ensued, involving the use of K9 units, drones, and canvassing his possible routes of travel. Authorities also conducted many interviews with his friends, family members, and known associates, though clues related to Aragon’s whereabouts were sparse.
That changed on August 25, when his body was found near State Highway 93 and State Highway 128 in the waters of Coal Creek. Further investigation took place and it was determined that evidence didn’t point to foul play being involved in Aragon’s death.
On December 3, the Boulder County Coroner’s Office released their report on the matter, indicating that Aragon died of accident drowning. This concluded the public release of information related to the case.
Condolences go out to Aragon’s loved ones.
