Bobcat spotted in Centennial neighborhood

Police alerted residents to be aware of a bobcat that was spotted in a Centennial neighborhood on Saturday.

According to a Facebook post from the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office (ACSO), a bobcat was seen in the area of South Holly Street and East Dry Creek Road in Centennial.

The sheriff’s office advised residents of the area to:

  • Keep pets on a leash and bring them inside if possible
  • Do not approach or attempt to feed the animal
  • Give the bobcat plenty of space
  • Report any aggressive behavior to local authorities

Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW), says that bobcats are “secretive, medium-sized wild cats that are crucial predators of rodents and other small animals.” The animals are adaptable carnivores that are widespread across the state, according to CPW. They are usually found in foothills, canyons, mesas, and plateaus.
