Teen cyclist seriously injured in JeffCo hit-and-run
Authorities are seeking information on a hit-and-run involving a vehicle and a 15-year-old riding a bicycle in Jefferson County. The juvenile suffered serious injuries, according to a news release from the Colorado State Patrol.
The CSP responded to the area of South Pierce Court and West Portland Avenue at about 3:45 p.m. Sunday. The driver of the vehicle involved stopped briefly to check on the juvenile before fleeing the scene, authorities said.
Witnesses described the vehicle as a late-model, large, dark-colored SUV. The driver was identified as a Hispanic woman with dark, wavy hair, believed to be in her 40s, wearing a purple shirt. A Hispanic teenage passenger with dark hair was also reported to be in the vehicle.
The Colorado State Patrol is the lead investigating agency for this crash and is asking the public to contact the CSP Denver Dispatch Center at (303) 239-4501 and use reference case number 1A261135 if they have any information.
