The economic influences of COVID-19 have touched nearly everyone, including Denver’s animal population. Because of this, the city said this year’s Giving Tuesday is critical for Denver’s animal protection programs.

Denver Animal Shelter and Denver Animal Protection are asking for public donations on the global day of giving on Tuesday, Dec. 1 to keep their operations running.

“DAS and DAP rely on the generosity of community members to help us offer hope for the future to the animals who find refuge at our facility,” said Kyle Wagner from Denver Public Health & Environment.

Donations will be used to fund the services DAS offers in conjunction with DAP, a division of the DPHE.

This includes emergency medical services, spay and neuter services, foster care, education initiatives, pet owner support, bite prevention and animal safety outreach.
