Driver shoots man during attempted carjacking in Denver
A carjacking suspect was shot while attempting to rob someone on Christmas Eve, the Denver Police Department announced.
Police said the suspect tried to carjack a victim Thursday morning near the intersection of Buchtel Boulevard and South Downing Street.
The victim then pulled out a gun, shooting the suspect.
Police announced the shooting just after 10 a.m.
Man shot early Christmas Eve morning near Ruby Hill Park
The attempted carjacker is the same suspect who is alleged to have committed a different carjacking near Speer Boulevard and West Colfax Avenue, police said.
After the shooting, the wounded suspect was found near the 2100 block of South Ash Street in the University Hill neighborhood.
The suspect was taken to a hospital. Their current status is unknown.
