18th Judicial District indicts eight people for series of armed robberies

A grand jury for the 18th Judicial District has indicted eight people on 69 total counts for a series of armed robberies at cell phone stores and a marijuana dispensary. According to a news release, some members also face charges for assault and attempted murder for trying to kill the man selling the stolen cell phones.

The charges against the defendants include violations of the Colorado Organized Crime Control Act. The news release states the defendants allegedly held up employees of cell phone stores at gunpoing and stole expensive cell phones, and later sold them.

The armed robberies linked to the defendants took place from late January through mid-March at T-Mobile, Verizon and AT&T stores in Aurora, Highlands Ranch, Denver and Westminster. The suspects also robbed X-Clusive Cannabis in Aurora, says the news release.

The defendants are:

  • Jermaine Jerome Wright, 24

  • Cartrell Bounds, 24

  • Kove A. Davis, 28

  • Damon Tyree Webster, 28

  • Marrell Lawayne Jones, 29

  • Adrian Washington, 26

  • Hasina Nafisa Allen-Turner, 20

  • Jalen Roosevelt Wright, 19

All of the defendants face charges of aggravated robbery and a pattern of racketeering. Bounds, Jermaine Wright and Jalen Wright face two counts each of attempted first-degree murder. The latter two also face charges of money laundering.

The defendants have court appearances set for April into June. A Class 2 felony, the highest level of felony the defendants face, carries a presumptive sentencing range between 8 and 24 years in the Colorado Department of Corrections.
