Denver weather: Rain showers possible Monday, cooler
A slight cool down from weekend highs in the upper 80s begins the week around Denver, and some rain showers are possible Monday too.
Denver residents can expect a 40% chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 2 p.m., according to the National Weather Service in Boulder. Mostly sunny, with a high near 80. Breezy, with a south wind 5 to 10 mph increasing to 19 to 24 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 34 mph.
It will be windy again today across the eastern plains with wind gusts of 40 to 45 mph. By early afternoon, scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected to form. Strong gusty outflow winds will accompany some the showers and storms. A few storms could be severe with wind gusts to around 60 mph.
