Win a ski day with a pro skier from Peak skis | Whiteout

Would you rather ski a day with a big-mountain skiing legend, a U.S. Alpine ski-racing icon, or a ski-BASE jumping pioneer?

Personally, trying to chase an ex-alpine ski racer would be a thrill in itself.

But if you enter the “Ski with a Peak Pro” Sweepstakes — one created by Peak Ski Co. of Bozeman, Montana and Black Tie Ski Rental Delivery of Fraser, Colorado — you’ll have your pick and a chance to be one of seven skiers to win a ski day and après ski experience with one of Peak Ski Company’s pro team members: JT Holmes, Bode Miller or Chris Davenport.

Seven winners will be selected for each of the six “Ski with a Peak Pro” events — 42 total winners — in February, March and April 2024, taking place at U.S. ski resorts at Mammoth, Park City, Palisades Tahoe, Beaver Creek, Big Sky and Aspen.

“I’ve been a passionate skier my whole life and I cofounded Peak Ski Company to share my love of skiing with others while developing a different type of ski that changes the way all-levels of skiers ski and makes our sport easier and more enjoyable,” Bode Miller cofounder and chief innovation officer at Peak Ski Company said in a news release. “The Peak and Black Tie ‘Ski with a Peak Pro’ events will give us a great opportunity to share our love of skiing with others and demonstrate why Peak Skis are the best in the industry.”

Peak Ski Co. and Black Tie Ski Rental Delivery partnered in April 2023 to offer Peak Ski demos at all 18 Black Tie locations, launching an opportunity for Black Tie’s clients to experience the performance of Peak Skis firsthand.

“I’ve been in the industry for 25-plus years, and I haven’t seen a collaborative effort of this kind,” Black Tie Ski Rental Delivery Co-Founder Ian Prichard said in the release. “It’s the perfect marriage of local Black Tie experts with global athletes on Peak’s innovative skis touring legendary resorts.”

Aspen resident Davenport and Bozeman resident Miller each have a pro-line set of skis with Peak Ski Co., and Davenport is a Colorado skiing legend. Following in the footsteps ski mountaineer Lou Dawson, Davenport was the first ski mountaineer to summit and ski from the summit of all 54 of Colorado’s 14ers in a single calendar year, completing the goal in 362 days in January 2007.

The “Ski with a Peak Pro” contest extends the benefits of that partnership to all skiers and fans, Peak Ski Co. said.

Sweepstakes winners (plus one guest each) will enjoy a two-hour tour of the mountain with a Peak Ski legend, followed by a hosted après ski with that pro.

SNOW NEWS

• Arapahoe Basin and the Denver Public Library have teamed up to provide library cardholders a chance to win an all-expense-paid ski trip to the ski area on the south slopes of Loveland Pass. The first winners spent a day at the resort on Sunday, but the next drawing will occur in February.

Arapahoe Basin and Denver Public Library 'Joy of the Mountains to All'

Arapahoe Basin Ski Area and the Denver Public Library teamed up to offer lower-income families opportunities to get these demographics up to the slopes to ski or snowboard.

Each winner will receive a trip to Arapahoe Basin, including transportation, lift tickets, rentals, and lunch for a hassle-free experience on the mountain for themselves and three guests.

The ski area said that snow sports are expensive and often out of reach for lower-income families, but in an effort to break down the barriers to the outdoors, The Basin is working in new and creative ways to address diversity, equity, and inclusion. By partnering with local organizations, the ski area wants to reach those who may not have another opportunity to get out on the slopes and spread the joy of skiing and riding.

“Through a collaborative effort with the Denver Public Library, Arapahoe Basin seeks to extend its network, creating pathways for individuals who may not traditionally have access to our outdoor haven,” Jesse True, Arapahoe Basin vice president of Marketing & Skier Services said in a news release. “We aim to share the cherished experiences of both summer and winter, inviting a broader community to celebrate the natural beauty that surrounds us.”

The winner may choose to visit on three select dates throughout the peak winter season (Feb. 17 or Mar. 18, 2024). Terms and conditions apply; please visit denverlibrary.org for more details and entry.
