Over 25,000 runners braved Denver’s Colfax Marathon in eight different races throughout the weekend.
Sunday races included the urban 10 mile, half marathon and 26.2 mile marathon.
Starting at City Park in east Denver, marathon runners crossed downtown via the Cherry Creek Trail, ran through Empower Field at Mile High, along West Colfax, around Sloan’s lake, went as west as Beverly Heights, and then all the way back.

The race ended at City Park, and thousands of supporters greeted runners where the race had started hours before.
The Denver Gazette followed half marathon and marathon runners along 17th Street and into City Park as they approached the finish line.
