Big second half leads DU Pioneers lacrosse past Marist | Colorado Sunshine

Where the good news shines

The University of Denver lacrosse team scored 12 unanswered goals in the second half to power the Pioneers to an 18-5 win Friday over Marist at Peter Barton Lacrosse Stadium.

The Pioneers’ Noah Manning, Mic Kelly and Judge Murphy had four goals each in the dominant win. Marek Tzagournis added two goals and two assists.

Denver had three players record hat tricks for the 31st time since the start of the 2014 season. The Pioneers only had three players record hat tricks once last season, and that came in the NCAA Tournament First Round vs. Michigan.

Freshman goaltender Grayson Manning made 12 saves in his first career start.

The Pioneers continue their homestand on Sunday with a matchup against Quinnipiac. Game starts at Noon.
