Colorado State Patrol looking for driver in connection to fatal crash
Colorado State Patrol (CSP) investigators are looking for a motorcycle driver in connection to a fatal crash that killed a driver and injured a minor in Boulder County on Sunday.
CSP responded to a single-vehicle crash near milepost 30 on Highway 7 — west of Boulder — around 9:30 a.m., according to a news release from the department. A maroon sedan rolled into a creek after driving off the shoulder of the road.
The driver was killed and a juvenile passenger suffered minor injuries, according to the CSP.
CSP released a follow-up post on Tuesday asking for information about a person riding a motorcycle at the scene around the time of the crash.
The person of interest was riding a blue motorcycle and wearing a white and black outfit with a black helmet.
“It is unknown at this time how the motorcyclist was involved. However, a witness stated they saw the vehicle on scene after the crash occurred, before driving away as others arrived,” a spokesperson with CSP told The Denver Gazette.
The identity of the crash victim will be released by the Boulder County Coroner’s Office following investigations.
Anyone who may have witnessed this crash, or may know the identity of the person riding the motorcycle, is asked to call the Colorado State Patrol Dispatch Center at (303) 445-1041 and refer to case number 1D252331.
