Police investigate shooting involving officer in Wheat Ridge

WHEAT RIDGE, Colo. — A Wheat Ridge police officer was involved in a shooting in the area of 32nd Avenue and Youngfield Street Thursday afternoon, the Wheat Ridge Police Department said.
Police said the officer was not injured. No other information about the shooting has been released.
Residents were asked to avoid the area while police investigate.
