Where good news shines

The third-ranked Denver Pioneers soccer team was picked to win the Summit League in the conference’s preseason poll released Tuesday.

The Pios were chosen to win the league for the 12th time in 13 seasons. Kansas City was picked to finish second with UMass third and Oral Roberts fourth.

Further, Denver’s Trevor Wright and Bryce Willoughby were named to the Summit League’s preseason players to watch list. A Real Colorado product, Wright has started 63 points and recorded 18 points in his career. Willoughby, who came from the Houston Dynamo Academy, has five game-winning goals for the Pioneers.
