Denver weather: Freeze warning in effect after mild Monday

Monday’s forecast around Denver calls for cooler weather, breezy conditions and sunny skies, but overnight lows heading into Tuesday could bring the first freeze of the season to some from Fort Collins to Highlands Ranch.
Denver residents can expect sunny skies, with a high near 62, according to the National Weather Service in Boulder. It’ll be windy though, with a northwest wind between 13 to 18 mph, increasing to 21 to 26 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 40 mph.
Tonight it’ll be clear, with a low around 34. A north wind between 6 to 11 mph becomes south after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 18 mph.
A freeze warning is in effect from midnight to 8 a.m., Tuesday for much of the Denver metro area and northern Front Range I-25 corridor from Boulder to Fort Collins.
Low temperatures between 29 and 34 degrees are forecast with the lowest temperatures east and south of Denver, and from Boulder to Fort Collins along U.S. 287.
Mid to upper 60s are forecast the rest of the week around metro Denver, however, a chance for showers on Thursday is in the forecast.
