Denver weather: A breezy and cool Monday ahead, with potential rain/snow late

The last potential weather making event of October is forecast for Monday around metro Denver as rain, and even potentially snow, could fall late in the day.

Denver residents can expect a 20% chance of showers after 3 p.m., according to the National Weather Service in Boulder. It’ll be mostly sunny, with a high near 68.

Also expect breezy conditions in the afternoon, with a south wind between 6 to 11 mph becoming west northwest 12 to 17 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 28 mph.

Tonight there is a chance of rain showers before 9 p.m., then a slight chance of snow showers between 9 p.m. and midnight. It’ll be partly cloudy, with a low around 31.

It’ll be blustery, with a north wind 8 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 24 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. Little or no snow accumulation expected.

Any snow that could fall would be south of metro Denver around Castle Rock and Monument Hill and the Palmer Divide. Snow levels could be as low as 6,000 feet.

Temperatures on Tuesday will be below seasonal averages, but will rebound closer to seasonal averages by Wednesday and through the rest of the week.

Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 49. Northwest wind 6 to 13 mph becoming south southeast in the morning. Winds could gust as high as 24 mph.

Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 58. East southeast wind around 6 mph becoming light and variable in the afternoon.

Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 57.

Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 57.
