Denver’s Elitch Gardens theme park holiday event has new name, more rides
One of Denver’s popular holiday events returns this year under a new name at Elitch Gardens Theme & Water Park.
Out with “Luminova Holidays” and in with “Elitch Holidays,” a name change the downtown Denver amusement park is calling “a fresh take on a beloved tradition.”
From Santa’s workshop, roller coasters, hot cocoa and holiday lights — Elitch’s fifth consecutive holiday event offers thrills of all kinds on select days between Nov. 28 and Jan. 4, the company said.
“The event will transform the park into a breathtaking winter wonderland, offering guests a renewed experience with more lights, more rides and more festive fun, all while preserving the familiar charm that has made it a seasonal favorite in Colorado,” Elitch’s officials said in a news release Thursday.
The debut of Elitch Holidays features more than four million lights, illuminated walkways, Santa Land and themed areas. Returning is the 25-foot snowman that never melts, the 300-foot candy cane tunnel and oversized ornaments.
Popular rides like Half Pipe, Star Flyer, Sidewinder and more are expected to run, weather permitting, according to the park.
Also debuting at the park is “Spirit of the Season: A Holiday Celebration,” a new show produced by RWS Global. Elitch Holiday treats and sweets consist of campfire s’mores, hot cocoa and Christmas cocktails.
Elitch Gardens, owned by Kroenke Sports & Entertainment and operated by Premier Parks, is among just a few major amusement parks nationwide hosting holiday events.
“We are planning to continue this tradition for years to come,” said spokesperson Katelyn Beets via email.
Elitch Holidays single admission prices are $24.99 online. Kids 2 and under are free.
