Colorado Rockies hire Jeff Pickler as bench coach on Warren Schaeffer’s staff
The Rockies have a bench coach.
Jeff Pickler, who spent the past six seasons with the Cincinnati Reds, will join Warren Schaeffer’s coaching staff, the team said Wednesday. Pickler will work alongside Schaeffer, Brett Pill (hitting coach), Alon Leichman (pitching), Gabe Ribas (assistant pitching) and Matt Buschmann (bullpen) and Schaeffer.
“We are beyond excited to bring Jeff Pickler onto the staff,” Schaeffer said. “His experience on the bench and the way he sees the game are going to be of immense value to the players, the rest of the staff, and me personally. He embodies a tireless work ethic and is obsessed with finding solutions. ‘Pick’ is a big addition for the Rockies. I can’t wait to get to work with him.”
Pickler was the Reds’ bench coach and game planning and infield coach in 2024. He worked as the game planning and outfield coach from 2019-22. The Garden Grove, Calif., native also worked with the Minnesota Twins. He played the 2005 season in the Rockies’ minor league system.
