Where good news shines

Colorado State women’s basketball beat Nevada 61-48 to open Mountain West play Wednesday at Reno.

The Rams (10-2, 1-0 Mountain West) got 14 points from Lexus Bargesser and 13 points from Brooke Carlson to secure their 11th-straight road victory.

Hannah Ronsiek had 10 points, while Lexi Deden had 10 points and eight rebounds. CSU’s defense was the key as the Rams held an opponent under 50 points for the fifth time this season.

CSU hosts Utah State at 1 p.m. Saturday on “Ugly Sweater Day” at Moby Arena.
