Denver weather: Sunny and mild on Tuesday

Sunny skies and mild temperatures are on tap Tuesday in Denver, weather forecasters said.

The National Weather Service in Boulder said to expect a high near 52 degrees Tuesday in the Mile High City. That’s about 8 degrees warmer than the average high temperature in Denver on Jan. 20.

Winds of 9 to 13 mph are expected in Denver on Tuesday with gusts up to 21 mph, meteorologists said.

The weather service said there could be some patchy dense fog in areas of Larimer and Weld counties to start the day, but that should burn off.

Meteorologists say elevated fire weather conditions are expected across Colorado’s far northeast plains on Tuesday.

Tonight, expect mostly cloudy skies that gradually clear as temperatures dip to a frosty 22 degrees.
