1 hospitalized after police shooting in Wheat Ridge

One person was hospitalized Saturday after a police shooting and ensuing chase in Wheat Ridge.

Edgewater Police have not provided many details about the shooting so far, but did say in a Saturday social media post that the incident began in Edgewater and made its way into northern Wheat Ridge.

The suspect was hospitalized as a result of the shooting, police said. The officer was not hurt during the incident.

Police first posted about the event just after noon Saturday. Officials did not immediately respond to a request for more information about the shooting when asked Saturday.
