Emergency crews airlift rider, rescue horse in Larimer County

A horse rider was airlifted, and a horse rescued in Larimer County on Saturday after an incident on Towers Trail.

According to Poudre Fire Authority (PFA), crews were dispatched, along with UCHEMS, Lifeline, and Larimer County Parks Rangers, to reports of a horse and rider needing a rescue off of Towers Trail.

PFA said that crews were able to rapidly access the patient when they arrived. The patient was transported to a local hospital.

The horse was retrieved by an authorized party, according to PFA.

“We are thankful for our partners and wish the patient a quick recovery,” reads the post from PFA.
