Hiker rescued after falling in Colorado backcountry in Morrison area
A hiker was rescued after falling in the backcountry near Mount Glennon in the Morrison area on Saturday, according to West Metro Fire.
In an X post from West Metro Fire, the agency said that the hiker called 911 after falling. However, the hiker was unable to give rescuers his location. Fortunately, after an extensive search rescuers found the hiker.
As of the time of the post at 5:02 p.m. on May 2, West Metro Fire said that the hiker was being carried out and that an AirLife helicopter was inbound to take the patient to the hospital.
According to All Trails, Mount Glennon is a strenuous hike, with repeated Class 2-3 moves. All Trails also says the route includes short chimneys, slabby steps, and some narrow ledges that demand “steady hands and three-point contact.”
Mount Glennon is located in Jefferson County and the peak reaches 6,463 feet.
