Former Penn State football player, fiancée, identified as victims in Highlands Ranch crash

A former Penn State football player was critically injured and his fiancée was killed after a driver rammed his truck onto the sidewalk where they were walking.

The crash happened at about 10:30 a.m. on June 1. Authorities said a pickup truck left the roadway Wildcat Reserve Parkway near Willowbridge Way and struck three pedestrians, seriously injuring two of them and killing one.

According to arrest documents and a GoFundMe, one of the victims who was injured is Kyle Vasey, 30, a former Penn State football player who briefly played for the Atlanta Falcons and is now a real estate advisor in Aurora. His fiancée Corrine More, 35, was the person killed in the crash.

Arrest documents for the suspected driver note that Vasey’s injuries left him at risk for serious permanent disfigurement. His injuries included bone fractures of his arm, leg, ribs and shoulder, as well as fractures of vertebrae in his lower back.

The GoFundMe created by Vasey’s parents noted that Vasey has endured six surgeries since the incident and is currently on a ventilator and will likely have a long road to recovery. The GoFundMe campaign as of Wednesday has raised more than $47,000 of its $70,000 goal.

Vasey attended Penn State University from 2014 to 2019, according to his LinkedIn page. He played on the school’s football team as a long snapper and briefly played the position in the NFL for the Atlanta Falcons during the 2019 season.

Adam Robert Bauserman, 28, was arrested shortly after the crash by the Douglas County Sheriff’s office. He has been charged with vehicular homicide, two counts of vehicular assault, one count of second-degree assault, one count of reckless driving and three counts of leaving the scene of a crash.

Bauserman also had a suspended license due to a previous DUI conviction at the time of the hit-and-run. Witnesses told police they believed the crash may have been intentional due to how fast Bauserman was allegedly driving before leaving the roadway and driving on the sidewalk.
