Denver police arrest man accused of killing teen during robbery
Denver police on Friday announced the arrest of a 32-year-old man who they say shot and killed a 17-year-old boy during a robbery attempt last year.
The Denver Police Department said Quajon Houcks was arrested Thursday for investigation of second-degree murder. Police said Houcks tried to rob Angello Reyes on Oct. 12, 2023, but a physical altercation ensued and ended when Houcks fatally shot Reyes.
The incident happened near the intersection of N. Dallas Street and E. 5th Avenue, police said.
Police said they used DNA evidence recovered at the scene to identify Houcks.
A warrant was issued for Houcks arrest on July 18 and police apprehended him on Thursday.
