Ikon Pass announces changes for Colorado access and pricing ahead of sales starting next week

Days after Epic Pass made headlines by announcing a big discount for the Gen Z demographic, Ikon Pass is making headlines related to an announcement regarding next season’s winter pass, too.

As far as Coloradans are concerned, the two biggest updates are related to the Ikon Base Pass, with spring pricing for this tier of pass starting at $924 – a $15 increase compared to initial pricing last season. Next season, this base-level pass will include unlimited skiing at Arapahoe Basin opposed to the five days of access it did last year. Previously, unlimited A-Basin skiing was exclusive to the full Ikon Pass.

The second big change impacting Coloradans is that the ‘base’ pass will now include five days at Aspen Snowmass. It’s also worth noting that reservations will no longer be required for Snowmass next season. Passholders who want to visit Aspen’s other mountains – Aspen Mountain, Aspen Highlands, and Buttermilk – will still need to purchase the full Ikon Pass, which has a spring starting price of $1,349 – a $20 increase compared to initial spring pricing last season. The full Ikon Pass comes with seven days split between the four Aspen ski areas during the 2026-2027 season.

It’s also worth noting that 2026-2027 passholders (‘session’ passes excluded) will get immediate access at some Colorado resorts starting on April 6 of this season, including Arapahoe Basin, Winter Park, and Steamboat.

On par with Epic Pass offering a discount for ‘young adults,’ Ikon Pass is doing something similar. For next season, Ikon Pass is introducing the ‘Squad Pass,’ which allows those age 23 to 28 to purchase an Ikon Base Pass for $750 each when one person buys five passes for the group.

Colorado resorts included on the Ikon Pass products are Arapahoe Basin, Copper Mountain, Eldora Mountain Resort, Winter Park Resort, Steamboat Resort, Aspen Snowmass, Aspen Highlands, Aspen Mountain, and Buttermilk. Access varies depending on which pass is picked – find a full breakdown here.

Ikon Pass products are set to go on sale on March 12. Find additional details on the Ikon Pass website.
