The annual rodeo was started 40 years ago by Ruth Dismuke-Blakely and the PRCA. The Denver event used to take place at the Denver Coliseum, but moved to the Temple Grandin Equine Center following its creation in 2022.

Christopher Fitzgerald, son of RTD Chief of Police Joel Fitzgerald Sr., was killed in Philadelphia while pursuing a suspect. Fitzgerald, a Temple University police officer, was attempting to apprehend a robbery suspect Saturday night, but was shot in the head and killed according to the Philadelphia district attorney’s office.
