Denver man arrested in connection to possible vehicular homicide

Police arrested a 19-year-old driver following a crash on Saturday morning that left his passenger dead.

Police responded to a crash near the intersection of West Colfax Avenue and North Speer Boulevard around 1:30 a.m. Saturday morning, according to a social media post by the Denver Police Department. Two vehicles had crashed near the Civic Center neighborhood.

Upon arrival, the 19-year-old passenger of one of the vehicles was declared deceased due to the collision. The driver of the vehicle, a 19-year-old man, was later arrested for investigation of vehicular homicide and DUI, according to the department. 

The other driver reported that he was not injured, according to the social media post.

The speed and cause of the crash have yet to be determined, but will be following investigation, according to police.
