Early afternoon showers are likely in Denver Tuesday accompanied by hot highs in the 90s, according to the National Weather Service in Boulder.
There’s a 60% chance of showers and thunderstorms in the forecast, mainly before 5 p.m. Expect increasing clouds throughout the day and a high of 90.
“Scattered showers and thunderstorms will develop this afternoon and continue into the evening,” the NWS said. “The highest coverage is expected to occur from the Front Range Mountains and Foothills into the Denver metro area and especially the Palmer Divide. Stronger storms will be capable of producing locally heavy rainfall with minor street flooding, while burn scars may also be susceptible to debris flows should a stronger storm move across one of the 2020 burn scars.”
Looking ahead to Tuesday night, a 40% chance of showers and thunderstorms continues through 10 p.m. Expect mostly cloudy, gradually clearing skies and highs in the low 60s.
A slight chance for showers will continue through the week with highs remaining in the 80s and 90s.
