Multi-vehicle crash closes highway near Golden

A multi-vehicle crash caused traffic buildup for those commuting north of Golden Thursday morning, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.
The sheriff’s office responded to a four-vehicle crash located on Highway 93, just north of Golden, around 7:30 a.m., according to a news release from the office. Colorado State Patrol then began investigating the collision.
As of 8 a.m., Highway 93 is closed in both directions from Table Mountain to 58th Avenue. Northbound traffic is asked to use Highway 58 to McIntyre or Easley Road and southbound traffic is rerouted to West 58th Avenue.
The section of the highway is expected to be closed for “several” hours, police said.
At least two people were sent to the hospital, according to the release.
