Denver weather: Second chance of heavy rain Wednesday is possible
Although most storms stayed east of Denver on Tuesday, the chance for heavy rain on Wednesday exists again as another round of monsoonal showers is forecast around the metro area.
Denver residents can expect showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 3 p.m., according to the National Weather Service in Boulder. It’ll be partly sunny, with a high near 83.
Light and variable winds become east northeast between 5 to 8 mph in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 70%.

A cold front passing through Colorado will mix with moisture being pumped northward on monsoonal flow, giving the best chances for heavy rain after 1 p.m., today.
Tonight expect showers and possibly a thunderstorm. It’ll be mostly cloudy, with a low around 61.
West northwest winds to blow between 5 to 8 mph become light and variable after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 70%.
Continued chances for rain and thunderstorms are possible on Thursday and Friday, but drying should begin heading into the first weekend of August.

Thursday: Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm between noon and 3 p.m., then showers and thunderstorms likely after 3 p.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 84. Light south wind becoming south southeast 5 to 10 mph in the morning. Winds could gust as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%.
Friday: A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after noon. Partly sunny, with a high near 85. South southwest wind 5 to 9 mph becoming north northeast in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 18 mph.
Saturday: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after noon. Mostly sunny, with a high near 91.
Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 91.
