Parker police find person of interest after argument leads to homicide Tuesday
Parker Police Department investigators have identified a person of interest and an associated vehicle less than three hours after an argument led to a fatal shooting Tuesday evening.
Officers first responded to a call about shots fired near South Twenty Mile Road and East Longs Way, near Railbender SkatePark, around 6:35 p.m. Tuesday, according to a news release from the PPD.
Witnesses on the scene reported that two vehicles were stopped alongside each other and an argument broke out, according to police. Then multiple gunshots were fired and one vehicle left the scene.
Upon arrival, police found a dead man near his vehicle, they said. He will be identified by the Douglas County Coroner’s Office in the coming days.
Parker police thanked the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office who helped in locating the vehicle and community members who shared tips, both of which helped authorities find the suspect and vehicle so quickly, officials said.
Anyone with information or video related to the incident is asked to contact Det. Beverly Wilson at bwilson@parkerco.gov or by phone at 303-805-6561.
