Adams County officials seize 70 pounds of methamphetamine, 5 guns during traffic stop
Adams County officials, in collaboration with several other law enforcement agencies, seized a swath of drugs and firearms during a traffic stop and search warrant execution last week.
Collected during the operation were 70 pounds of methamphetamine, 1.29 kilograms of cocaine, five guns — four handguns and a rifle — and several thousand dollars, according to a Friday news release from the Adams County Sheriff’s Office.
Officials said they made one arrest during the operation and that the suspect was taken to jail on “new charges,” but declined to provide a probable cause affidavit or identification of a suspect, citing the ongoing investigation.
The operation was divided into two distinct portions: the first was a traffic stop, during which officials seized 50 pounds of methamphetamine, two handguns and cash, according to the release. They then executed a search warrant at a residence and collected 20 more pounds of methamphetamine, the cocaine, the remaining guns and more cash.
The operation took place in unincorporated Adams County, according to the release. Officials did not provide a more exact location.
